Ashiro (安代町 Ashiro-chō) was a town located in Iwate District, Iwate, Japan.
On September 1, 2005 Ashiro, along with the town of Nishine, and the village of Matsuo, was merged to form the city of Hachimantai and no longer exists as an independent municipality.
As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 6,006 and a density of 13.05 persons per km². The total area was 460.24 km².
